Bangkok Trip

Day 1
Woke up around 5.15am on Sunday 23,2006 and got myself prepared for my journey to catch my flight in KLIA Airport (LCCT - Low Cost Carrier Terminal).

Reached there around 7am, checked in, then went for breakfast at McDonalds while waiting for other friends to arrive. It was my first time going on a holidays oversea with bunch of my friends, hard to describe my feeling at the moment but I'm definitely thrilled.

These are my friends, only half of them are here.

Oh, nice plane with Manchester United logo but unfortunately,

This is the one I'm taking...

Okay here we go...

Two hours later reached Don Muang Airport, Bangkok.
That's me squatting down checking my bag.

These are the view from the outside.

If you can noticed this picture is a little bit smoky on the left, reason because I was blowing my cigarette smoke from that direction in order to spice up this picture for your viewing pleasure...:p

We are heading to check in to our hotel, to unload our luggages. We are staying at Hotel Royal Benja (RM130/night located quite near to the city and skytrain.

As we all know that Bangkok it's a capital of Thailand, but there it's an article I have read according to a small village saying that the name Bangkok was actually baptised by foreigners. The Thais use to call their capital in a much shortened version Krung Thep (City Of Angels), of the VERY official and tongue-twisted of, well let's pronounce together...

Krungthep mahanakhon amonratanakosin mahintara ayuthaya mahadilok popnopparat ratchathani burirom udomratchaniwet mahasathan amonpiman avatansathit sakkathattiya witsanukamprasit

.....pheew

After lunch, it's Shopping time. Our first target in our itineraries would be the Chatuchak Market because it is open only on (Sat & Sun) from 8am till 6pm. It has claim as the mother of all markets, a sprawls over a huge area with 15,000 stalls. Get a skytrain and head down to Moh Chit Station, where the market is just next to it.

See that it's such a huge place to shop around, different sections with different colours.

See they even sell doggy here...cute lil doggy ya.

Handmake Flower

Arts & Crafts

Curry Ball

Extremely shocked over the hot weather here, is a bit dreadful to walk around any longer, lucky we found this "cendol" stall

Oooooh Water Chestnut looks good, only 20 baht...

Well forget it, not that nice taste a bit awful.

Believe me this herbal noodle is so delicious, worth sitting under the hot sun eating this. Four of us eat this and it's only cost us like 100 baht which is equavalent to RM10. Cheap ya!

Well time to go back to the Hotel, it's getting dark...

Dinner at...Porntip ...it's located directly opposite Platinum Shopping Mall at Pratunam.

Some fried vegetables with mince meat... taste alright

Taste like some fried vegetables tempura... it's nice

Lemongrass Steam Fish... good

Tom Yam Sup... excellent
The food here is cheap, we ordered like every single dish in 3 portions for 14 of us, each and every one of us just pay up like 220 baht per person that's about RM22/person. What do you think!

Well time for a place like Patpong, what so cool about Patpong! It's a pub crawling places in THE MOST NOTORIOUS district.
Mind this picture because it's taken illegally ( I guess) in A-go-go-Girl Pub.

Well that's all about day 1, will soon be posting Day 2 till Day 4, need more time to work on this...adios
